Supernovas

Lots of people believe the world will come to an end. Many expect a supernova to disintegrate everything we know. Well, we have nothing to worry about because the Bible tells us exactly what lies in the future. The Bible always builds hope, not fear and discouragement.

There will be many changes on the earth as Jesus’ second coming draws near. Please read Acts 1:9-11. These verses record the resurrected Jesus’ return to heaven.   ThArmageddonen, two angels appeared and promised, “This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.” There are many, many other Scriptures that predict that the resurrected Jesus will come back to earth and reign over the earth for 1,000 years. Lots of people think the battle of Armageddon is the end of the world, but that’s totally incorrect. Jesus returns to earth and there will be a battle in the Middle East in a region called Armageddon. This is not the end of earth, it’s the beginning of Jesus’ 1,000 year reign over mankind. Please read Revelation 19:11-21.

After the 1,000 years the Lord brings a new heaven and new earth into existence. “Then I saw a ‘new heaven and a new earth’ for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away,” Revelation 21:1. In other words, the Lord will change the present earth that is decaying into an eternal heaven and an eternal universe that never passes away. You see, there is really not an end of the earth. There will be a big change, but the change is for the supreme better. So we don’t have to fear a supernova or any other catastrophe that annihilates the human race and God’s creation.

God intended for all humans to live eternally. He gave Adam and Eve creative ability and regrettably they used their creativity to ignore God’s laws of success. They chose to follow Satan’s laws of destruction. Humans brought about death, not God. Humans brought about sickness and disease, unhappiness, war and crime. In other words, humans misuse the creativity God placed in them. But there is some really great news!

Romans 5-8 In spite of our sinful rebellion against the Lord and his laws of success, God keeps loving us. He placed our sin on a man who never rebelled against him. This man, Jesus, paid the penalty for our rebellion against the Lord so that we could enjoy the eternal life God made us for. Even though we spend a few years in these bodies that are subject to pain and live on earth where sin and Satan cause havoc, we look forward to an eternity of peace and prosperity. Mostly, we look forward to living with our Lord Jesus who loves us enough to give his life for us.

True, there is a place called hell, a place of torment, but, again this was not created for us, but for Satan and his angels. “Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels,” Matthew 25:41. Humans who reject Jesus and his heavenly Father follow their leader Satan into hell. God doesn’t send people into hell, he rescues us from hell! All we have to do is accept Jesus as our Lord and our Savior. If we don’t accept Jesus, then we have to follow Satan into his eternal, horrible home.

We should praise the Lord Jesus who delivers us from Satan’s curse and brings us into God’s blessing! One of my favorite verses is Romans 5:8, “God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”Thank you for loving me

  1. James. I totally enjoyed your message. I had not really thought that the battle of Armageddon was not the end but the beginning of Jesus thousand yr reign. I had just never thought of that . I am looking for that time to come. But of course I am really looking forward to the rapture!!! Thanks for you and Dee’s ministry and your friendship. May God bless and keep and strengthen both of you. Love Shirley
