I Found Heavenly Father’s Mirror on the Beach

Darkness shrouded the beach late on evening.  No man-made lights illuminated the blackness that stretched forever.  As I looked heavenward, multitudes of brilliant stars and planets filled the sky.  The heavens declared God’s glory and displayed his splendor!  My heart leaped for joy as I reveled in Father’s heavenly handiwork.

But then I looked down at the sand washed smooth by the ocean waves.  For the first time in my life I noticed the moist sand reflected the light of the brighter stars and planets.  A perfect mirror!  Not a mirror made by human intellect and effort, but a mirror effortlessly created by Father’s infinite genius!

The next morning, I could hardly wait to stroll along the beach.  I wanted to see Father’s mirror in the daylight.  Sure enough, Father’s mirror perfectly reflected the blue sky, the fluffy white clouds, and the flying ocean birds.  As I stood marveling at this glorious wonder, comfort and encouragement flooded my mind and heart.  Just think!  The infinite One thought all this out.  The gentle ocean waves stream across the sand; the water left behind by the receding wave compacts the grains of sand; the compacts grains hold a thin-film of water on the surface which for a few seconds perfectly reflects the sky.  Now that is genius!

Well, that same Immeasurable Genius planned your life and controls everything about you.  I know, I know, what about the heartache and pain life inflicts upon us?  Well, that’s just another proof of his infinite intelligence!  He even uses the unpleasant parts of life for achieving his good and wonderful purposes for us.  Quit trying to figure life out!  Merely relax in the One who created mirrors on the beach.  He’ll take good care of you!
