Attached to the Blessed One

Potiphar worshipped the crocodile god, prayed to the sun god and trusted in all the gods of his Egyptian forefathers.  He knew nothing about the one true God, who created the universe.

Potiphar had one thing going for him: he attached himself to a young Hebrew slave named Joseph.  Joseph trusted in the one true God, the God of his forefathers: Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.  The true God loaded Joseph down with divine blessings which spilled over into Potiphar’s life.  From the time he put him in charge of his household and of all that he owned, the Lord blessed the household of the Egyptian because of Joseph,” Genesis 39:5.

Potiphar’s relationship to Joseph brought Joseph’s blessings into his Egyptian home.  It works the same in your relationship to Jesus.  Father appointed Jesus as the blessed One.  Father lavishes upon Jesus every good and perfect gift, every desirable blessing, every power and privilege.  All that belongs to the Father is mine,” John 16:15.

From the moment you attached yourself to the blessed One, Jesus’ blessings became your blessings.  We don’t have to become worthy of the blessings, we don’t have to earn them and we don’t have to be good enough for them.  All we have to do is stay attached to Jesus.  Love Jesus with all your heart, soul and strength and you will automatically live a blessed life.

“If I’m so blessed, why do I have all these problems?”

Life’s problems test our faith in Jesus.  During life’s problems, we Christians often question our worthiness of God’s blessings.  When we question ourselves, we are looking at the wrong person.  Lift up your eyes to Jesus.  He’s the one Father blesses.  His blessings simply flow into your life.  Is he any less worthy of God’s blessings when you are hurting?  Of course not!  When you don’t feel blessed, don’t worry about it.  When you don’t look blessed, don’t be anxious about it.

Jesus remains the blessed One for all eternity.  Attachment to Him guarantees his blessings for you!

This is what the Lord says:… ‘I will come to you and fulfill my good promise….For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.  You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.  I will be found by you,’ declares the Lord,” Jeremiah 29:10-11.
