Scriptures that Destroy Worry

Every day we face concerns and obstacles in our lives. We have to remind ourselves to look to God’s Word to help us overcome discouragement. His joy will spring up in us despite everything around us when we meditate on his holy Scriptures. We pray these verses are an encouragement to you!

  • God will surely come to your aid. (Genesis 50:24 & 25)
  • Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you…The Lord will fight for you. (Exodus 14:13-14)
  • Do not be fainthearted or afraid; do not panic or be terrified by them. For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory. (Deuteronomy 20:3-4)
  • Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s. (2 Chronicles 20:15)
  • I tell you, do not worry about your life….Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.  Are you not much more valuable than they? (Matthew 6:25-34)
  • Make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves. For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict. (Luke 21:13-15)
  • Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. (Philippians 4:6)
  • Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7)

Set Your Mind Above

BIbleAs I recently read Revelation 4:1, I recognized an application of this verse to our everyday lives I had previously missed.

A door standing open in heaven” awaited John‘s spirit. However, there’s a door standing open in heaven for us right now. This door is called Holy Scripture. As we read God’s Word it opens to us insights into the Lord and his ways that the human mind can never conceive. Therefore, if we want to know the Lord and understand his Word and ways we must live in the Scriptures.

The Lord shows us how to practice extremely healthy meditation, meditation that equips earthlings to live victoriously in a world that attempts to destroy our relationship with Jesus. We choose to meditate in the Word when everything around us attempts to distracts from the Word of God. Purposefully “set your mind on things above not on earthly things” (Colossians 3:2). You will live on earth, but have a heart and mind-set on Father, Son and Holy Spirit who invite us to share their victory over Satan, sin and the world!
